on this page:

Introduction

The purpose of the Contact Configuration page is to create a contact information base that is used in multiple other components. The advantage of this set-up is, that the contact information only needs to be created once and if the content needs to be updated, the changes are automatically reflected wherever the information is displayed in the Site.

The template can be found as child page of /configuration and consits only of one component. The information can be used in the following components: Help Center, Header Navigation Configuration Page and Site Contact.

Display & Behaviour

The contact information boxes created in the Content Configuration page are used in 3 different components in GEM. Their display varies accordingly. The opening behaviour of the used links remains identically in each component and depends on the set Items Type.

For the detailed set-up of these components, please see the Usage in referenced components section.

Site Contact component

Available in the Erste Group Contact component group in a Standard Content page. It displays the contact boxes in the main content as single component.

Site Top Bar component

Available (pre-set component) in the Header Navigation Configuration page. It displays the contact boxes upon clicking on the Contact us link.

Help Center component

Available in the GEM Common component group in a Standard Content page. It displays the contact boxes just below the Help Center.

Template characteristics

The Contact Configuration page template is only available as child page of the Configuration "folder" (Configuration page). For consistency reasons and in order for the page to be recognized by all referenced components, it must literally be named "contact-configuration".

As child pages of the Contact Configuration page, Modal Content pages are available, in order to directly create referenced Modals, if applicaple.

The page consists of only one, already pre-selected and non-deletable component, the Site Contact - default renderer.

Component settings

There is only one, already pre-selected and non-deletable component available in the template: Site Contact - default renderer.

tab: General

In the tab General, all fields for the Contact Items can be defined.

Editorial hint:

Click-to-call / tel: scheme as link path

By entering a tel:+telephone number as link path, e.g. tel:0123456789, it is possible to trigger a click-to-call action that automatically calls up the devices default call app/ software (on a smartphone the telephone app, on a desktop e.g. Lync or Skype).

Usage in referenced components

As mentioned in the Introduction, the Contact Configuration page itself is not used as an independent component but is always just referenced to for its content to be displayed in multiple other components.

Attention:

In order for the Contact Configuration to interact correctly with all referenced components, please make sure that the page is literally named "contact-configuration".
