BB & HTML Entity codes are used to add code snippets in order to format text content or add symbols in multiple components.

Introduction

A markup language is a type of language used to annotate and style text contents. The code snippets derive from HTML tags and can be used every text field (such as Rich Text Editor, Headlines, Links etc.). A representative tag is the commonly know %5Bb%5D for bold texts or © for a © copyright symbol.

BB Codes

The BB Codes can be added to any text content field contained in any component. The code snipped is simply added to a text part and then styles the text within the tags. Currently available BB Codes are:

HTML Entity Codes

The HTML Entity Codes can be added to any text content field contained in any component. The code snipped is simply added to a text part and gets then translated when displayed on the actual web page. Currently available HTML Entity Codes are:

Simply add the code to a text content such as a headline  and the signs get translated accordingly to ©, ® or ™.

Add the code in a long word to define the break point of a long word.

Power Tags

The Power Tags is not acutally a markup language feature but yet it provides another possibility to add text snippets to textual content. A Power Tag or so called placeholder is defined in the Dictionary Configuration Page and can be added in any text input field. It gets then translated to the respective value.

So in this example, a translated value of 5,10 Euro/Monat belongs to a key mastercard.gold which is defined in the Dictionary. By placing one of the above formulas in a text input field, the translated value is displayed.

System provided Power Tag for current year

There is a provided Power Tags that can be used to automatically display the current year.

This means that wherever the $­{System.Date.year} tag is added, automatically the current year 2026 is displayed.
